According to the different raw materials used, plastic film products can be divided into polyethylene film, polypropylene film, polyester film, nylon film, polyvinyl chloride film and polystyrene film. Among them, BOPP, BOPET and BOPA made by biaxial stretching process are the three main plastic film packaging substrates and are most widely used in the packaging field.


  If we consider the printing performance alone, BOPA has the best printing performance, because BOPA film has a polar structure and does not need surface treatment before printing.

  BOPP has the worst printing performance, because BOPP film is a non-polar polymer, they have high chemical stability, low surface tension, and are not easily wetted by most inks and solvents.

The quality of printing performance is mainly determined by surface tension:

  • The surface tension of PP is 34 (mN/m)
  • The surface tension of PET is 40~43 (mN/m)
  • The surface tension of PA is 46~52 (mN/m)

  It is obvious that the best printing performance is BOPA>BOPET>BOPP.

  BOPP film has the advantages of light weight, non-toxic, odorless, moisture-proof, high mechanical strength, dimensional stability, good printing performance, high air tightness, good transparency, reasonable price, low pollution, etc., and is known as the "Queen of Packaging". BOPP film is generally composed of general BOPP film and functional BOPP film.

  From the perspective of the industry as a whole, the supply of general-purpose BOPP film products in my country is relatively sufficient, and the functional BOPP film market has been in short supply due to the high technical content of the products, long R&D cycle, and rapid growth in market demand. The market demand for functional films is increasing, and its application has extended to more different fields. Globally, major BOPP film manufacturers are distributed in major commodity consumption areas such as Asia, North America, and Europe.
